Barley Crusher with 15 lb. hopper. If you plan on brewing 10-gallon batches, this 15-lb. hopper is right for you and worth the investment. Adjustable rollers on both ends keep gap spacing parallel for a uniform crush along the full length of rollers. Using a 3/8 drill-motor at 500 RPM gives you a crush rate of 6 pounds a minute making the big grain bills fast and easy. Includes a solid base with locators for centering on a 5-gallon plastic pail. Gap default setting is marked and set at .039 during assembly. Adjustment range is from .015 to .070 thousands of an inch.

      Barley Crusher Review

Posted by William on Jun 26th 2025

This malt mill gives a great crush. It comes set with a roller gap of about 1mm, which does a great job. I had to tape some duty aluminum foil on the outer sides of the hopper, though, to stop some grain from going over the rollers and being wasted. It is a little awkward to turn as I hold the mounting board with one hand and turn the crank with the other. Wheat malt was much harder to crush. A drill or some other means of running the mill would be preferable. I haven't needed to adjust the roller gap, yet as the crush is great!
